November 2018, Monguno, Nigeria. At 10am, 18 years old Hussana Adamou arrived in labor to the only maternal health clinic in the area. Dr. May Murithi, the cofounder of this ALIMA free clinic, was in charge of the delivery.

 Hussana arrived to the clinic from her home at GSSS IDP camp. After 6 years of marriage, this was her first baby to be born.

 While preparing for Hussana’s delivery, Dr. May was, at the same time, training her team of nurses.
